Traditionally, saddlebags were simple open spaces that allowed the contents to clatter, make noise and rub against each other. Often, a replacement inner tube would be removed from a saddlebag and revealed to be more full of holes than the replaced tube due to rubbing against a house wrench or multi-tool. With Mattone, we designed a small pocket to keep multi-tools and inner tubes separate from each other. The unique off-center Aquaguard zipper allows the pannier to open fully and lie flat when not on the bike, while allowing easy access to the multi-tool and money/card slots when on the bike without the risk of spilling the entire contents of the bag.
A high-friction Hypalon strap with BOA® closure completes the package. More than 15 times as powerful as Velcro® , the BOA® closure uses a ratchet mechanism that won’t slip or loosen even under the most extreme vibrations and impacts. This ensures that the Mattone will stay high and tight under your saddle until you need to access it… no rocking, swaying or rattling… ever!
