Fascinated by the look, feel and durability of Titan tubular construction, the Cerakote edition is a combination of these product design features. A bottle cage that offers better retention on gravel and other hard surfaces and has proven to be the superior design when mounted on the underside of the downtube, so common in touring and adventure riding. Although classic in appearance, this material and its manufacture are as complex and high-tech as possible.
Cerakote is the high-performance ceramic coating most widely used in aerospace, military and biomedical applications. With a thickness of just 1 micron, Cerakote’s high-performance ceramic coating increases abrasion resistance by more than 100 times, while increasing corrosion resistance by more than 1,000 times compared with traditional metallic finishes and paint coatings. Cerakote even improves fatigue resistance by eliminating the possibility of surface scratches or nicks that can lead to stress cracking over time.
Please note that although Cerakote is the hardest and most durable ceramic coating currently available, it is not magic, and its hardness is roughly equivalent to that of the hardest sand particles, including aluminum oxide and garnet. Cerakote continually exposed to abrasion by these sandy materials will eventually scratch and begin to wear, and will not be covered by warranty. Regular cleaning of cages and bottles is recommended to remove any embedded abrasive particles that may accelerate wear.
